About

LLaura Hardenbrookaura Hardenbrook – Principle
I received my degree in English literature and composition from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1994.  For the next twelve years I worked as a writer, trainer and project manager in the San Francisco Bay and Greater Kansas City Metro areas specializing in technical, corporate, and marketing communications. In 2006 I completed an internship with a prestigious New York literary agency, and was inspired to get back to my creative writing roots. I applied and was accepted to Seton Hill University’s unique Writing Popular Fiction MA program in 2007. In June, 2009, my thesis (an urban fantasy novel) was passed, and I graduated.

I have always had a great love of literature and writing, and am a writer myself. I understand first-hand the fears and frustrations that are experienced by writers. I derive a great deal of pleasure from assisting others in finding their voices and perfecting their writing, with helping someone paint the beautiful vision she has in her head onto the canvas of the written page. In the end, I simply love words and the exquisite images they evoke. Perhaps someday you will share yours with me.

What “Seshet” Means

The name is pronounced SEH-shet. In Egyptian mythology, Seshet (or Seshat) was wife to Thoth and known as the “First Lady of Libraries.” While Egyptian women were very seldom taught to read and write, Seshet was scribe to the pantheon, tasked with many important recording tasks, and a patron of the arts. Her name comes from the word “sesh,” which means both “to write” and “scribe,” with the “-et” ending indicating the feminine. The agency’s logo is taken from the headdress the goddess is depicted wearing.
